One day i hope to go bungee jumping and sky diving. i was born in China but have lived in Australia most of my life. Having said that, i'm still quite chinese lol. i like pink things, ribbons, bows, hearts, hello kitty, ruffles, lace, florals. i have a shoe fetish. i wouldn't call myself a shopaholic, although most of my friends would say otherwise. >Your grace has found me just as i am, empty handed but alive in Your hands
>i called, You answered, i wanna be where You are
>i am a flower quickly fading, here today and gone tomorrow, a wave tossed in the ocean, vapour in the wind. still You hear me when i call out, Lord you catch me when i'm falling and you tell me who i am, i am Yours
>Broken hearts become brand new, that's what faith can do
>A thousand times i've failed, still Your mercy remains. And should i stumble again, still i'm caught in Your grace.
>My heart will sing, no other name, Jesus.
>If i had wings i would fly, coz all that i am, You are. If the world caved in around me, to You i'd still hold on.
>Your light will shine when all else fades
>i'm running to Your arms, i'm running to Your arms. The riches of Your love will always be enough.
>you're the only one whose got enough of me to break my heart
>you're the only one i've loved enough to not forget
>Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars? i could really use a wish right now
>you're the best thing that's ever been mine
>In a storm, in my best dress, fearless.
>If you're my dream please come true

Goodbye 2011
Saturday, December 31, 2011

At the end of last year, i strongly felt this year was going to be very sad. To be honest it hasn't been easy, but it didn't turn out to be filled with the kind of sadness i anticipated. i've always been someone to expect the worst. i'm not sure if that's always a good thing, but at least you don't get disappointed or surprised as often. Even though i expect the worst, i still hope for the best.

A lot has happened this year. Some highlights (chronological order): China study tour; Melbourne trip; Church camp - Beyond; Getting my braces off; 21st birthday; Finishing my last exam; Hearing news of one of my close friends getting engaged; Korea trip. Lowlights: Getting my first and only 'Pass' grade; Being rejected by many firms. So all in all, it's been a really good year.

Let 2012 be the start of something new; something bigger, better than ever before. i believe 2012 will be an even better year. It's odd for me to have such high expectations, as mentioned before most of the time i expect the worst. However, for some reason i just know 2012 will be awesome. Not in the sense that a lot of good things will happen in my life, but the feeling that i will grow and experience a lot in the coming year. And for that, i am excited. Guess that's the thrill of not knowing what is going to happen in the future. Still seeking God's direction for next year - where i should go, what i should be doing. But i believe He will direct, in His time (:

Here's to an amazing 2011, and anticipating an even better 2012!

when things break, it’s not the actual breaking that prevents them from getting back together again. it’s because a little piece gets lost — the two remaining ends couldn’t fit together even if they wanted to. the whole shape has changed.

This is the thing: When you hit 28 or 30, everything begins to divide. You can see very clearly two kinds of people. On one side, people who have used their 20s to learn and grow, to find … themselves and their dreams, people who know what works and what doesn’t, who have pushed through to become real live adults. Then there’s the other kind, who are hanging onto college, or high school even, with all their might. They’ve stayed in jobs they hate, because they’re too scared to get another one. They’ve stayed with men or women who are good but not great, because they don’t want to be lonely. … they mean to develop intimate friendships, they mean to stop drinking like life is one big frat party. But they don’t do those things, so they live in an extended adolescence, no closer to adulthood than when they graduated.

Don’t be like that. Don’t get stuck. Move, travel, take a class, take a risk. There is a season for wildness and a season for settledness, and this is neither. This season is about becoming. Don’t lose yourself at happy hour, but don’t lose yourself on the corporate ladder either. Stop every once in a while and go out to coffee or climb in bed with your journal.

Ask yourself some good questions like: “Am I proud of the life I’m living? What have I tried this month? … Do the people I’m spending time with give me life, or make me feel small? Is there any brokenness in my life that’s keeping me from moving forward?”

Now is your time. Walk closely with people you love, and with people who believe … life is a grand adventure. Don’t get stuck in the past, and don’t try to fast-forward yourself into a future you haven’t yet earned. Give today all the love and intensity and courage you can, and keep traveling honestly along life’s path.
